• What qualifications do you need to work with gas?
  
• Working with gas can be dangerous, so all UK gas engineers must be approved by the Gas Safe Register. In order to join the Gas Safe Register, you will need to pass an initial ACS assessment and earn your core gas safety (CCN1) qualification. Additional qualifications may be required to work with certain gas appliances.

• How do you become a registered gas engineer?
  
• Once you have completed your gas training and earned the necessary qualifications, your awarding body will send evidence of your competence to the Gas Safe Register. You can then apply for registration and get your Gas Safe ID card. You will need to complete a probationary period in order to achieve Gas Safe status.

• How long does it take to train as a gas engineer?
  
• This depends on your training programme. Traditional training routes can take anywhere from a few months to several years, but here at Access Training, we offer flexible gas engineer courses that allow you to train at a pace that suits you. • I'm worried I won't be able to afford my course or a deposit, can I still join?

• I didn’t do well at school. What if the courses are too hard for me?
  
• At Access you can train on your own terms. You get an online platform where you can re-watch all the webinars as many times as you want. And the best part: You get hands-on training in our centres in all the courses. Most of our students learn by doing. And hundreds of our students proved that there’s no link between being good at school as a child and building a solid trades career. In addition, you have personal access to our friendly mentors and you can ask all the questions that you have.

• English is not my first language. What if I can’t understand the course content?
  
• Over 30% of our students have English as their second language. You will have the recordings of all the webinars. So, if you don’t understand a phrase, you will have plenty of time to pause, go back, and translate it using google translate. You need to be able to speak, but nobody expects you to be perfect.

• I need a lot of time to learn a new skill. Will I have to pay more if it takes me longer to learn?
  
• You don’t have to pay more if it takes you longer to learn. You will get access to our course materials for 3 years. So you can learn at a pace that suits you and you won't be expected to move forward to the next part of your training until you feel comfortable that you understand the content.

• How many hours per day does it take to do the course?
  
• The Electrician course is really self-paced and students don't have to book their practical assessments until they feel ready. You can do as little as 20 minutes per day if you want to take it slow. Or do 6 hours per day and build your skills fast.

• What does your career support look like?
  
• We support you on every step of your career building process.
  
  Firstly, there is a career support team. They offer guidance to every student who has questions about CVs, interview preparation, and landing your first job . We provide CV templates and guide you on how to create a good CV.
  
  Secondly, we host talks and workshops at our open days. During workshops, we give very specific, actionable steps on how to write a CV and apply for jobs.
  
  Thirdly, we have a network of recruitment affiliates and trades companies. We regularly share job opportunities with you and information help you to apply for relevant roles.
  
  And lastly, on your student portal there is a tab showcasing many of the current positions from our affiliates.

• How long do I have access to the courses for?
  
• You have access to our student portal with all the courses webinars, career support resources and network offers for 3 years.

• I learn by doing and I don’t think an office job is for me. Is this course right for me?
  
• Most of our students prefer hands-on work, that’s why they love the trades industry! We don’t make everyone sit in the classroom 9 to 5 to become an electrician. This attitude will be very helpful for you in your trade career and we 100% see the power of learning by doing. That’s why we created centres all over the UK, for all the students to be able to come and get their hands dirty.
